Sequence of events during germination of putrefactive anaerobe 3679 spores.
The sequence of changes during germination of putrefactive anaerobe 3679h spores was studied under aerobic conditions in a solution containing l-alanine and sodium pyrophosphate. Evidence that specific changes occurred in two distinct regions of the spore is given by data on several criteria that were used to measure germination. During the initial stage of germination, the absorbancy decreased...
متن کاملShape-Time Photography
We introduce a new method to describe shape relationships over time in a photograph. We acquire both range and image information in a sequence of frames using a stationary stereo camera. From the pictures taken, we compute a composite image consisting of the pixels from the surfaces closest to the camera over all the time frames. Through occlusion cues, this composite reveals 3-D relationships ...
متن کاملZinc release and the sequence of biochemical events during triggering of Bacillus megaterium KM spore germination.
Zinc release is the first quantitatively significant event detected during the triggering of Bacillus megaterium KM spore germination. Of the total spore Zn2+ pool 25% is released from non-heat-activated spores within 4 min of triggering germination. During this period only 10% of the spore population becomes irreversibly committed to germinate. The investigation of a putative role for Zn2+ in ...
متن کاملComputational Photography: Epsilon to Coded Photography
Computational photography combines plentiful computing, digital sensors, modern optics, actuators, and smart lights to escape the limitations of traditional cameras, enables novel imaging applications and simplifies many computer vision tasks. However, a majority of current Computational photography methods involves taking multiple sequential photos by changing scene parameters and fusing the p...
متن کاملEvaluation of Time-lapse Photography to Estimate Population Parameters
We investigated the utility of time-lapse photography to provide population estimates and lamb : ewe ratios of mountain sheep populations. We compared 2 methods of time-lapse data analysis: group sampling and frame sampling. We failed to reject the null hypothesis that population estimates and lamb : ewe ratios from time-lapse and direct observation sampling were the same.
